Susanne Pfalzner is a German astrophysicist who started her career in laser-plasma physics. Nowadays, she mainly investigates how stars and planets form. She is especially interested in how the environment plays a role in these processes. Currently, the solar system and interstellar objects are the focus of her research.

She works at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre, lectures as an associate professor at the University of Cologne, and performs research at the Max-Planck for Radioastronomy, Bonn.

Other interests are how the change in methodology towards simulations and machine learning alters the epistemological value of our research results.
